After reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar, C worked on a three-part project. First, he painted a toilet paper roll brown to become the chrysalis.
Next, he glued pom-poms on a clothespin to make his caterpillar.
Finally, he used watercolor paints to decorate a coffee filter. For those of you that know me, you're probably shocked that I own coffee filters. I believe I have had this package for five years now.
After putting the caterpillar into his chrysalis - they really should reprint the Eric Carle book so that it no longer says cocoon - we waited. Then, miraculously, during quiet time, the caterpillar turned into a butterfly.
