I folded a green piece of paper not quite in half, with one side being lower than the other. C used scissors to fringe cut the lower side. That became the grass. Then I gave him printed pictures of bugs to "hide" in the grass. If he were older, I would have had him design his own bugs or cut out the bugs himself - just some ideas if you want to make it more challenging.
After he glued on the bugs...
They hid in the tall, grass. Sometime soon I will do the projects on a different surface so you don't have to keep looking at our kitchen table. Later today I will bring back the bug picture cards from yesterday and have him use rubber stamps to spell the bug names on paper. I love using items I made for multiple activities!
